Well our annual Dance Spectacular Show at the Beck Theatre is nearly upon us and everyone, staff and cast, is excited with costumes being given out and final rehearsals being done to polish each performance. The Dress rehearsals at the Beck are on the Thursday and Friday 19 and 20 October with the matinee and Evening show on Saturday 21 October.
For those pupils not doing the Show please be aware that there will be no classes from Thursday 19 October until Saturday 28 October due to the show and half term. So, our classes resume as usual on the Saturday 28 October.

Summer School Fun
For the 4th year running we held over the summer holiday a 5 day Intensive Ballet School and a 5 day Musical Theatre Summer School. Both of these had 30 pupils who thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learnt a lot! All of us teachers also enjoyed working with the youngsters whose ages ranged from 5yrs to 16 yrs. And at the end of the week each school performed in our studio to their Mums and Dads. Quite daunting as so close to them and such a lot to learn in a short time, but as usual they came up trumps with outstanding performances. Well Done! We’re so proud.
Ballet Exam Round – Awesome Results
The March and June Ballet examination round results are now with us. Wow! What successful rounds with 60% gaining Distinctions and 40% Merits across Primary to Grade 4 for the March round, and 37% gaining Distinctions and 58% gaining Merits in the June round across Primary to Grade 7.
So, well done to all of our pupils and well done to our teachers. The results will be given out by our teachers in the classes with their certificates.
We have also been busy on the Dance Festival front, these being held over half terms and school holidays. As usual we have an abundance of medals and placings in both Dance and Musical Theatre sections. I must say a big thank you to Sophie, Rachel, and Georgia for their choreography. As usual these routines hit the mark for our pupils to display their ability and with their flawless performances the outcome is always a very high standard.
More information on the pupils, their results and pictures can be found on our ‘Dance Festival’ page. However there are a few pictures below of just some of our entrants.
To any potential new parents and pupils I would like to emphasise that we do run LAMDA classes during the week and at weekends. For those that don’t know LAMDA stands for ‘London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts’.
These classes are designed to improve children’s elocution, articulation, acting and performance in order to give them the skills and confidence to succeed in life. Our teachers are professionally trained to coach children in these skill sets which culminates in globally, OFQUAL recognised examinations. These examinations at Level 3 are also included in the current UCAS tariff, with a Grade 6 Diploma currently being 40 points. They are very popular classes and all of these perform at the Beck Theatre in our Dance Spectacular Show.
New Adult Evening Classes
We also have two new adult classes, adult Jazz on Tuesdays 7.30-8.30pm, and Adult Streetdance Sundays 12.30-1.30pm. Both are pay as you go. Come along and give them a go, they’re fun and energetic so a good way to tone up and get your heart pumping.
Furthermore, our current Adult Ballet class on Wednesdays 7.30-8.30pm will continue running as it is which is great news for us.
Our Dance shop now has a new range of the latest Pineapple bags (see below) as well as designer leotards and glitzy hotpants from Capezio and Bloch.
